Adventurers, Innovators and Olympic champions: not the first people who would spring to mind to address a symposium on the future of learning and skills.

At QIA, we recognise that good ideas can come from anywhere and we have called on a multitude of inspiring figures to bring a new perspective to our sector’s conference. Through fresh approaches and pioneering ideas, we will explore new ways of creating real and lasting improvements to education, skills and the future of our country.

Graham Hall, Chief Executive UK Skills, Mark Haysom, Chief Executive Learning and Skills Council, Lauri Kurvonen, Chief Technologist Finnish National Board of Education will be speaking.

The conference programme includes sessions on: the new quality improvement strategy • partnership and workforce development • enhancing organisational reputation • perspectives on improvement from local government, health and abroad • innovative solutions to sharing effective practice • plus more

You will learn and share insights about current and future approaches to the UK skills challenge, the 14-19 agenda and routes to engaging learners and employers.

The latest thinking on quality improvement, ‘Train to Gain’ and ‘Skills for Life’ programmes plus the opportunity to network are some of the key benefits of attending this event.

The conference will be held at the ICC, Birmingham, on Wednesday 7th June - Thursday 8th June 2006.
